Staff

There are currently 6 permanent members of staff at the setting. We work on the appropriate ratio of over 3 yrs old = 1 adult: 8 children, under 3 yrs old = 1 adult: 4 children.

Our staff have a wealth of experience and qualifications and attend regular training courses.

We also have frequent students attending the setting from local colleges and senior schools to gain knowledge and experience working within a childcare setting.

Our Team

Kate
Manager

Kate has been our pre-school’s Manager since September 2014. Kate is a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, Level 4 Leadership and Management qualified, and a Paediatric First Aider. Kate has lived in Raunds for over 15 years and has 2 daughters that attended the local schools.

Leanne
Deputy Manager

Leanne is or pre-school’s Deputy Manager with more than 15 years of continuous years of service. Leanne is a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, Learning and Development qualified, Level 4 Leadership and Management qualified, and is also a Paediatric First Aider. Leanne has lived in Raunds her whole life and attended local schools.

Dayna
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner

Dayna was a Trustee on our pre-school’s committee but has now joined the team as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner.  Dayna has lived in Raunds for over 18 years and has children that currently attend local schools.

Holly
Early Years Assistant / Apprentice

Holly was a Trustee on our pre-school’s committee for 3 years before joining the team as an Early Years Assistant. Holly is currently working towards her Level 3 Early Years Practitioner qualifications.

Claire
Level 3 Early Years Practitioner

Claire joined our pre-school in 2021. Claire is a level 3 Early Tears Practitioner and has been held in high regard everywhere she has worked. Claire has two children attending local schools and has lived in Raunds most of her life.

Saffron
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner

Saffron joined our pre-school 2021 as an apprentice. Since then, Saffron successfully qualified as a level 2 Early Years Practitioner through our apprenticeship program in 2023.

Stephanie
Early Years Apprentice

Stephanie joined our pre-school in 2023 as an apprentice. Saffron in currently working towards becoming a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner.

A vacancy for a part-time Level 2 or 3 Early Years Practitioner has become available in our setting. Previous childcare experience is required to apply for this position.

Requirements:

  • Relevant and full level 2 or 3 certificate in Early Years Practice.
  • 5 x GCSE at level C/4 and above, including Maths and English.
  • Able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
  • Able to provide certificates of education and qualifications applicable to the role.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a good level of communication.
  • Has excellent timekeeping.
  • Is kind and caring towards preschool children.
  • Is able to work as part of a team and independently.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Implement the daily program of learning experiences/activities as outlined in the weekly plan and as directed by the room leader.
  • To deliver a range of stimulating and fun learning experiences suitable for the age of the children in your care, that meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation curriculum (EYFS).
  • To regularly observe and record children’s achievements in line with the EYFS
  • To operate the Keyworker system working closely with your specific children and their parents/carers.
  • To keep Child Learning Journals for your Key children up to date
  • Provide a high level of interaction and comfort to the children in your care.
  • To work closely with other team members in order to promote excellent team spirit
  • To attend training courses and keep up to date with current childcare practices as appropriate
  • To be involved in ‘out of work’ activities such as team meetings
  • To assist in domestic tasks in the playgroup e.g. preparation of snacks, washing and changing children, and general cleaning duties
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, and ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly.
  • To respect the confidentiality of information received about each child/family

Apprenticeships

Level 2 Early Years Apprentice Vacancy

Contract Hours: 30 Hours per Week, term time only
Length of Contract: Training duration + 12 months

A vacancy for a Level 2 Early Years Apprentice has become available in our setting. Previous childcare experience is desired but not required to apply for this position.

While you work towards your qualification you will receive one-to-one support from your mentor who will provide the support and resources you need. Upon successful completion of your training, you will hold a position with us for 12 months as a qualified Level 2 Early Years Practitioner.

Requirements:

  • Able to pass an enhanced DBS check
  • Able to provide certificates of education and qualifications where applicable
