There are currently 5 permanent members of staff at the setting. We work on the appropriate ratio of over 3 yrs old = 1 adult: 8 children, under 3 yrs old = 1 adult: 4 children.
Our staff have a wealth of experience and qualifications and attend regular training courses.
We also have frequent students attending the setting from local colleges and senior schools to gain knowledge and experience working within a child care setting.
Kate has been the setting Manager since September 2014. Kate has a Level 3 in Childcare, Level 4 in Leadership and Management and is also Pediatric First Aid trained. Kate has lived in Raunds for over 15 years and has 2 daughters that attend the local schools.
Leanne is the setting’s Deputy Manager with more than 15 years of continuous years of service. She has a Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development, Level 4 in Leadership and Management and is also Pediatric First Aid trained. Leanne has lived in Raunds her whole life and attended the local schools.
Early Years Practitioner
Dayna was on the setting committee and has now joined the team as an Early Years Practitioner. She has lived in Raunds for 18 years and has children that currently attend the local schools. Dayna has a Level 2 in Childcare.
Early Years Assistant / Early Years Apprentice
Holly was on the settings committee for 3 years and has now joined the team as an Early Years Assistant. She lives in Raunds and has 2 children that attend the local schools.
Early Years Practitioner
Claire is the newest addition to the Raunds Playgroup family, joining us in 2021. Claire holds a level 3 in childcare and has been held in high regard everywhere she has worked.
Early Years Apprentice
Saffron has joined us as we restart our apprentice program, we look forward to helping Saffron through her apprenticeship.

Level 2 Early Years Apprentice Vacancy – Closed
Contract Hours: 30 Hours/Week (Term time only)
Length of Contract: Training duration + 12 months
A vacancy for a Level 2 Early Years Apprentice has become available in our setting. Previous childcare experience is desired but not required to apply for this position.
While you work towards your qualification you will receive one-to-one support from your mentor who will provide the support and resources you need. Upon successful completion of your training, you will hold a position with us for 12 months as a qualified Level 2 Early Years Practitioner.
- Able to pass an enhanced DBS check
- Able to provide certificates of education and qualifications where applicable
We are looking for someone who:

- Is kind and caring towards pre-school children
- Is able to work as part of a team and independently
Your responsibilities include:
- Assisting qualified practitioners in the day-to-day running of the setting
